Faculty of Innovation and Engineering (FIE) is formed by restructuring the existing strengths in Information Technology, Nanotechnology and Materials Science, Systems and Control, and Environmental Science and Engineering. FIE consists of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Engineering Science, Department of Material Science and Engineering and Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, as well as a number of research institutes. Meanwhile, FIE offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes to over 1,500 students. In keeping pace with the fast advancing and diverse disciplines in modern engineering, the program at FIE emphasizes the cultivation of an “Innovation” and inter-disciplinary mindset through a rigorous core foundation program and in-depth cross-disciplinary personalized innovation projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Dean in providing strong academic and strategic leadership for the Faculty, and in planning Faculty’s development;

  • To assist in the management of Faculty’s resources (including budget and fundraising donations) as well as educational programmes and activities;

  • To extensive communication with the community, and to promote interdisciplinary research and education.;

  • To assist in the development of strategies to promote commercialization and entrepreneurship, and to expand education and research networks, as well as strengthen collaboration across institutions.

CANDIDATES SHOULD MEET FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Professorial rank in the Faculty is required;

  • Outstanding academic achievements with a broad vision;

  • Knowledge of teaching and research in all areas of the Faculty of Engineering;

  • A former academic leader in higher education with strong managerial skills and visionary planning for the Faculty’s development;

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
