Founded in 2000, the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has rapidly developed into the largest multi-disciplinary university in Macao. MUST was ranked among the Top 300 Universities in the “World University Rankings 2024” and ranked 26th in the “Young University Rankings 2023”, released by the Times Higher Education (THE) in 2023. MUST endeavors to educate students specialized in various fields, attaches equal importance to teaching and research, focuses on the quality of programs, pursues excellence, and has continuously reached new heights in academic development. The University sits on Taipa with a campus of 210,000m2. The beautiful surroundings and convenient transport render it an ideal place for students to pursue high quality of education and research.
As of today, MUST owns 10 faculties, and providing a wide range of courses, including Social Science, Science, Engineering, Law, Management, Business, Medicine, Pharmacy, Tourism, Art, Communication, and Language. MUST has the right to award academic degrees at doctoral, master, and bachelor levels, with some programs conducted in Portuguese or Spanish. In addition to local students, MUST attracts a great many students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Currently, there are more than 21,000 students enrolled at the University, including 8,500 master and doctoral students and 13,000 undergraduate students.
Inaugurated in June 2004, Research and Technology Administration Office is responsible for seven tasks: a) developing research policies; b) editing and publication of the Journal of the Macao University of Science and Technology; c) organization of the application of research projects and process management; d) reporting and management of research results and awards; e) participation in the work of the University Research Committee Secretariat; f) management and protection of research intellectual property; g) transfer and transformation of relevant scientific and technological achievements. In addition, RTAO cooperates with Fundo para o Desenvolvimento das Ciências e da Tecnologia (Macao Science and Technology Development Foundation), the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China and also supports professors and researchers in applying for research projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out overall organization, coordination and management of the university's scientific research activities according to the university's development strategy and future goals;
Responsible for the development strategy of scientific research and technology transfer;
Coordinating with the application, process management, and completion of various scientific research projects at all levels of the university, and organizing the identification of various scientific research achievements, the declaration of awards and patents, etc.;
Responsible for the transformation and industrialization of university scientific and technological achievements/patented technologies;
Responsible for the management of the use, reimbursement and review of university scientific research project funds;
Other tasks assigned by superiors.
CANDIDATES SHOULD MEET FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
Master degree or above in science or engineering-related majors, major in medicine, biology, engineering are preferred;
10 years or more of relevant work experience, those with work experience in universities, scientific research institutes, and well-known enterprises are preferred;
Familiar with the complete process of industry-university-research research in domestic and foreign universities, be able to independently develop channels for industry-university-research projects;
With keen market insight, analysis and research ability, project development and coordination ability.
